BS EN 61439 explained: what it means for your control panel
The standard behind almost every low-voltage panel built in the UK, what design and routine verification actually involve, and what you should specify.
Read the articleBuilt to your drawings for OEMs, line builders and controls companies. We work as an extension of your team, taking care of the build from drawings to delivery so you can focus on the rest of the job. Just upload your drawings and we’ll come back to you with a price, or if you’re not sure what you need, we can design it for you.
Who we work with
We work directly with OEMs, line builders and controls companies. You keep ownership of the design and the customer relationship, and we take care of the panels.
You design the machine and we build its panels, whether that’s a one-off special or the same panel every month. Repeat builds are done the same way every time, so what arrives in your workshop is ready to fit.
Full production lines mean a lot of panels landing at once. We build to your programme and deliver each panel tested, labelled and ready for installation, so your site team isn’t waiting on the electrics.
Your engineers design the system and write the software, and we build the hardware to your drawings. We only build panels, so we’ll never be competing with you for your customer’s next project.
Control panel manufacturing services
From a single junction box to a multi-bay line control panel, and from a one-off special to the same panel every month. Send us your EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or PDF drawings with a bill of materials, and we’ll quote, procure, build and test to them. We’re just as happy working with free-issued hardware. If something on the drawings doesn’t look right, we’ll raise it before we build, not after.
No drawings yet? We can complete the electrical design for you in EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical, including specifying the materials, and then build the panel to it.
Upload your drawingsPLC, HMI, safety and remote I/O panels for production lines, cells and standalone machines, built around the hardware you specify.
DOL, star-delta, soft start and drive-fed motor circuits, laid out for clean access and easy maintenance on site.
Variable speed drive panels with proper EMC practice, sensible cooling and segregation between power and control wiring.
Low-voltage distribution boards and power panels for plant, process, data centre and building services projects.
Industrial control panels for machines heading to the US and Canada, certified by our third-party certification partner.
Like-for-like and upgraded replacements for obsolete panels, planned so the changeover on site is as short as possible.
Not sure what you need? We can complete the electrical design for you in EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical, from schematics and panel layouts to specifying the materials.

Standards
Whether your panel is going into a UK factory or onto a machine bound for the US, it’s built and documented to the standard it needs to meet. Compliance starts at the drawing check, not the final test.
Low-voltage assemblies built, routine verified and UKCA or CE marked where required.
Industrial control panels for machines shipping to the US and Canada.
An extension of your team
Most panel shops belong to an integrator, so handing them your work means handing it to a competitor. We focus on panels. Think of us as part of your team: we take the build off your hands so you can get on with everything else.
of our work comes from word of mouth. Most customers come to us for a one-off panel and stay for the next one.
Drawings, pricing and end-customer details are kept to the people building your job, and we’re happy to sign your NDA.
You’re welcome to come and see your panels at any stage of the build, not just at the factory acceptance test.
Our team has spent more than three decades building panels for automotive, pharma, data centres and other demanding industries.
Every panel is wired by fully qualified electricians and tested by qualified testers. Never under-qualified labour.
We handle the delivery on your behalf, whether it’s going down the road or overseas.

FAQs
If your question isn’t here, give us a call or send a quick message and we’ll come straight back to you.
Our panels are built to UK and European standards: BS EN 61439-1 and -2 for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies, and BS EN 60204-1 where the panel forms part of a machine. We supply UKCA and CE marking with a declaration of conformity where required and follow BS EN 60445 for conductor identification. For machines heading to North America, we build UL 508A panels.
