How we work

From your drawings, or ours, to your site in six clear steps, with one point of contact throughout and an open door at every stage.

Our process

Six steps from drawings to delivery.

Simple, predictable and the same for every customer, large or small, one-off or regular, from a single junction box to a full line of panels.

  1. 01

    Send us your drawings

Upload your drawings on our website or email them to us. Whatever stage your design is at, send what you have. No drawings? Tell us what the panel needs to do and we can design it for you.

    • Schematics in EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or PDF
    • Panel layout or GA drawing, if you have one
    • Bill of materials, with any free-issue items marked
    • Standards and any customer specifications
  2. 02

    Drawing review and quote

We review your drawings, raise any questions or concerns before we price, and come back with a clear quote and realistic lead time, usually within one working day.

    • Questions on the drawings raised up front
    • Assumptions written down so you can see what’s included
    • Lead time based on real component availability
  3. 03

    Order and procurement

Once you place the order, we procure everything on the BOM from our supply chain, or work with the hardware you free-issue to us. Long-lead items are ordered first.

    • Full procurement or free-issue
    • Approved component lists followed
    • Progress updates as kit arrives
  4. 04

    Build

Your panel is built to your drawings in our Warwickshire workshop by fully qualified electricians: mechanical preparation, backplate layout, trunking, DIN rails, device mounting and wiring.

    • Cable colours to BS EN 60445 or your specification
    • Ferrules and markers on every core
    • Labelled devices and terminals
    • You’re welcome to visit during the build
  5. 05

    Test and FAT

Every panel is tested by qualified testers and goes through routine verification to BS EN 61439 before it leaves, with functional checks against the drawings. You’re welcome to witness a factory acceptance test.

    • Routine verification to BS EN 61439
    • Insulation resistance and continuity tests
    • Functional checks against drawings
    • Witnessed FAT on request

    Delivery

We handle the delivery on your behalf, anywhere in the UK or the world. Your panel is packed properly for the journey and arrives with the full documentation pack.

    • Delivery arranged by us, UK or worldwide
    • Export packing and crating when needed
    • Signed test report and photo record
    • UKCA or CE marking, or UL 508A certification

Electrical design

Not sure what you need? We can design it for you.

Not every customer arrives with finished drawings. If you know what the panel needs to do but not exactly what should go in it, we can complete the electrical design on your behalf in EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical, then build and test the panel to that design.

You get the design files at the end, so the drawings stay with you for maintenance and future changes.

  • Electrical schematics and circuit design
  • Panel layout and general arrangement drawings
  • Specifying components, enclosures and cables

Standards

Built to UK, European and North American standards.

UK and European standards come first for panels staying in the UK and Europe, and UL 508A for machines heading to North America. Compliance starts at the drawing check, not the final test.

BS EN 61439-1 & -2

Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies

The core standard for panel assemblies in the UK. Every panel goes through routine verification, with design verification records available on request.

BS EN 60204-1

Electrical equipment of machines

For control panels supplied as part of a machine, covering protection, emergency stopping, control circuits and documentation.

UKCA & CE

Conformity marking

Panels marked and supplied with a declaration of conformity under the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and the EU Low Voltage Directive, where required.

BS EN 60445

Conductor identification

UK harmonised cable colours and clear core identification, with ferrules and markers on every termination.

BS EN 60529

Enclosure ingress protection

Enclosures selected, prepared and verified to the IP rating your application and environment call for.

BS EN 61000-6

Electromagnetic compatibility

Drive and control panels laid out to good EMC practice, in line with the Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016.

BS 7671

IET Wiring Regulations

Power and distribution panels built to connect cleanly into installations designed to the 18th Edition.

UL 508A

Industrial control panels for North America

Built in our Warwickshire workshop and certified professionally by our third-party certification partner.

Testing

Routine verification on every panel.

BS EN 61439 requires every assembly to be routine verified before it leaves the workshop. We carry out these checks on every panel we build, record the results in a signed test report, and photograph the finished build.

If you’d like to see the tests for yourself, you’re welcome to witness a factory acceptance test in our workshop.
