If your machine is going to the US or Canada, its control panel needs to meet UL 508A, the standard for industrial control panels. A panel that would be fine in a UK factory can be rejected by a North American inspector, often at the worst possible moment in a project.
We build UL 508A panels here in the UK so you don’t have to find a panel builder overseas. Each panel is inspected and certified professionally by our independent third-party certification partner before it leaves, so it arrives ready for installation.

Can you build UL 508A panels in the UK?
Yes. We build UL 508A panels in our Warwickshire workshop, and each one is inspected and certified professionally by our third-party certification partner, ready for installation on US and Canadian sites.
How are your UL panels certified?
Our UL 508A panels are inspected and certified by an independent third-party certification partner before they leave our workshop, rather than self-certified.
Do the components need to be different for UL?
Often, yes. Components must be UL Listed or Recognised for how they are used. A common example is circuit protection: a breaker listed to UL 489 can protect a branch circuit, but a supplementary protector recognised under UL 1077 cannot. We check this when we review your bill of materials.
What is SCCR?
The short-circuit current rating is the maximum fault current a panel can safely withstand. Every UL 508A panel must be marked with it, and it has to be at least the available fault current at the installation.
